Birthday Party Ideas

5 Top Tips for Birthday Parties

With so much outdoor and indoor entertainment for kids available in London, it's sometimes difficult to know where to begin. Here are five top birthday party ideas to get started.

1. Hire a children's entertainer
JoJoFun have a wide variety of the finest and friendliest children's entertainers London offers, offering any and all things kids entertainment from Balloon Modellers to Face Painters to kids party Magicians. We recommend the popular party package "The Works", which includes songs, stories, birthday party games, balloon modelling, bubbles, puppets, and magic!

2. Choose a birthday party theme
Birthday party themes are a delightful way to celebrate the birthday boy or girl, bringing to life their favourite characters from stories, television, and film. JoJoFun provide bespoke birthday party themes and also offer a selection of recommended themes, such as Disney's Frozen (Olaf, Anna and Elsa literally entertain at your party venue!), Pirates, Princesses and Fairies, Shrek, Ballerina, Alice in Wonderland and so many more.

3. Order balloon decorations
Nothing says birthday party quite like balloon decorations - your guests will immediately know they're in for a treat when they arrive at your venue, be it at home or in a hall. JoJoFun provides all your balloon decorations requirements, such as single latex balloons, foil balloons, balloon clusters, balloon arches, and more - all filled with helium and ready to go!

4. Be sure the birthday cake is taken care of.
Whether you bake your own birthday cake, or choose from one of JoJoFun's birthday cake ideas, our top tip is to have the cake prepared and sliced before the party begins, that way you can distribute the cake at the right time with ease!

5. Send out invitations
Invite your birthday party guests in style with specially designed invitations. When you order a children's entertainer with JoJoFun, you get complimentary invitations delivered to you in advance of the event, to distribute as you choose.

We hope these birthday party ideas help in organising your children's party.

Rice Krispies Creations

The Perfect Gluten Free Alternative to Birthday Cakes

We are sure you have heard of Rice Krispies Squares! But have you heard of Rice Krispies Cakes and other Krispies Creations? My husband, the creative genius that he is, decided to take the fabulously delicious recipe for Rice Krispies squares and literally mould it into themed creations that the children loved. We’ve enjoyed munching on various themed cakes over the years such as Sponge Bob, Monsters, and a surfer dude on waves. One year, he even crafted a Star Wars fire-fighter out of the rice crispies recipe. Our most recent creation, for the delight of one child's love of the meat paddy - the burger with bun, lettuce, ketchup and candles. We dipped the burger paddy in melted chocolate – let it set in the fridge for 30 minutes and added other sweetie things to make the lettuce and ketchup.

One thing's for sure, everyone who has come into contact with this version of the tasty treat, has always devoured it and always asks for seconds. It’s definitely a lightweight alternative to the traditional cake (which is very delicious too – don’t get me wrong)!

To get started, here's a recipe for Rice Krispies Original Treats

INGREDIENTS
· 3 tablespoons butter
· 1 package (10 oz., about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
· OR
· 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
· 6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal

DIRECTIONS
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above.

Microwave cooking times may vary.

Note
-For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
-1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.
-Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
-Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.
-To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container. Freeze for up to 6 weeks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Why not have a go for your next big celebration? See what you can come up with. When you're finished, send us pics of your creations to include on our Pinterest page!

Creating tips

· Plan your design beforehand as the recipe hardens quickly.

· Line your setting dishes with plastic wrap as the mixture can get very sticky and may not come away from your moulding tools.
